Virtual Classroom FAQs

To learn more about virtual classes:

What equipment do I need?

To attend a virtual class, you need an Internet connection and a separate phone line for the conference call. If your separate line has a speaker phone, several employees can participate at once.

The computer you use must meet the following requirements to work with WebDemo™:

  • A broadband Internet connection that gives you at least 56kbps with 40kbps connectivity (examples include DSL, cable, T1, etc.)
  • One of the following operating systems: Windows® 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP, or 2003
  • One of the following compatible browsers: Internet Explorer 5.5 or later, Mozilla or Firefox
  • Allow pop-ups for webdemo.eci2.com (preferred), or temporarily disable pop-up blockers.
  • For maximum feature utility, browser must have Microsoft® Java Virtual Machine 5.x or later (preferred; Available at: http://www.linktivity.com/getjava.asp) or Sun™ Java™ 1.4 or later.

Before taking your first class, please test your browser.

How do I find out if my browser will work with WebDemo?

To work successfully with WebDemo, your browser must meet several requirements, and you must install a plug-in application.

Before taking your first Virtual Class, please go to the machine you'll use to attend class, and prepare its browser. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Go to webdemo.eci2.com
  2. If prompted, temporarily turn off your Pop-Up Blockers, or allow them for webdemo.eci2.com.
  3. Under the System Tools heading, click the Test Browser button.
  4. The Test System page shows a blue progress bar during testing:

Please wait for your system to complete the test.
  5. If your test was successful, go to Step 6.

If the test is not successful, the blue progress bar turns red, and the test results page shows you an error or warning symbol where a problem was found. In your results page, if  you hover mouse over the error or warning symbol, a tooltip will provide additional details and advice.

  6. If you see a window like the one below, click OK; your system will then install the plug-in applet.

If the browser test fails, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Email Results button
  2. In the Name field, enter your email address so that we may contact you.
  3. In the To Email Address field, enter DemoAdmin@eci2.com.
  4. Click the Send Results button. This will send an email with information that will assist us in troubleshooting and give us your email address so that we can contact you to resolve the issue.

Do you offer classes for different levels of experience?

We have two levels of classes: Let's Get Started (LGS) and Optional Topics.

LGS classes cover the basics. Before you sign up for these classes, we recommend that you discuss them with your assigned trainer.

Optional Topics classes are for dealers who have already mastered the basics. They cover topics that are popular at our users' meetings.

How often do you hold classes?

Most classes will be held at least once a week, but our schedule may vary, depending on which classes are the most popular.

After you select a class you want to take, you can see when that class is scheduled.

You can also see all the currently scheduled classes on our Calendar of All Classes. You will need your DDMS account number to view the calendar.
