ECi Announces SPR Enhanced
E-Content for Dealer Station

ECi Loads Dealer Station® 7.4.1 This Weekend

ECi will load Version 7.4.1 this Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 12-13, 2008, during nighttime hours between 9 PM and 7 AM Eastern Time.

7 Reasons to Love SPR Enhanced E-Content

If you sell from the S.P. Richards catalogs, you can take advantage of the following features, which are similar to how the features were implemented in ECinteractive® last summer:

  • Quicker, More Intuitive Searches: Enhanced keyword search includes more terms familiar to industry outsiders, multiple spellings (and common misspellings) for various items and synonyms for common search terms.
  • Search Filters: SPR has added category specific attribute templates to its e-content, allowing customers to filter search results by product attribute. For example, a listing of pens could be filtered by attributes such as brand, ink color, ink type, point type, etc.
  • Enhanced Categorization: Improved organization, a new indexing structure, and clear, logical category labels provide customers with more information and make it easier to locate products when browsing the online catalog.
  • Cross-selling of Accessories: The enhanced item information in SPR’s new E-Content includes links to accessories and complementary items — toner and USB cables to accompany a printer, for example.
  • Up-Selling: Item information is also linked by package quantity and attributes to take advantage of up-sell opportunities. For example, a 25-count spindle of CDs might be linked to the 50- and 100-count spindles, encouraging customers to move up to the larger quantity.
  • Larger Images: Customers can view new extra-large images (500 x 500 pixels).
  • Product Comparison: Users compare attributes of selected items in a separate page.

Dealer Station users can Filter their S.P. Richards Enhanced Search results and select items to compare

How Do I Set Up My Maintenance Schedule?

Your Dealer Station site may be unavailable during this weekend's software update. To prevent dropped orders, you can schedule your site to be Offline for Maintenance by following these simple steps:

  1. Log into your Dealer Station site’s Administrative Control Panel, and click Automatic.
  2. In the Automatically Shut Site Off for Maintenance box, enter the time to go offline, using a 24-hour clock.
  3. Note: All server times are Eastern. For example, if you wish to turn off the site at 8:30 PM Eastern, add 12 hours for PM and type 20:30.

  4. In the Automatically Turn Site Back On, enter the time to go back online.
  5. Click Update Site Status.
  6. Under Site Text, you can customize the Down for Maintenance message that will display at the top of the window and that your customers see if they login during the maintenance period.

How Do I Implement SPR Enhanced Content?

If you have customer accounts who purchase items that are in the S.P. Richards catalogs, you can use the Dealer Station Admin Control Panel to set up selected end users to use enhanced search filters, cross-sell and up-sell opportunities, large item images, and product comparisons.
