What’s New In This Release?
Feb. 17, 2010 — The ECi DDMS Version 8.21.40 maintenance release is available now for software download via the ECi Customer Support Portal (https://support.ecisolutions.com).
Our development team continues to make it easier for you to take full advantage of new technology, work more efficiently, and grow your business. New enhancements accommodate new requirements for new VISA Level 3 Government/Corporate Purchasing Card Requirements via Approval Link™, and for new HON® furniture ordering system logins via the ECi PSN (Private Supply Network).
For All Dealers
Approval Link Updated for VISA's New Level 3 Standard (56349)
Regular consumer credit card statements include Levels 1 and 2 transaction details (merchant and order totals). Corporate and government purchasing card statements require Level 3 procurement details. Level 3 details may include line item pricing, quantities, product codes, descriptions, shipping ZIP code, freight amount, and duty amount.
DDMS has processed Level 3 details for years. However, VISA® recently set new purchasing card requirements for Level 3 transaction detail processing. To comply, we enhanced the DDMS, Approval Link, and Utilities Extension software. Now, our software transmits line item taxes and extended line totals according to the new standard when a VISA purchasing card is used.
If you are not already set up for Level 3 Processing, see the "Setting Up and Using Level 3 Processing" section on page 9 of your documentation:
Contact Database Allows Longer PSN Login IDs (56401, 56452)
In the DDMS Vendor Supply Options box, dealers enter a Sign On ID for transmitting orders on the ECi Private Supply Network. The Sign On ID field has been limited to 20 characters. However, a growing number of vendors (HON® and HermanMiller®, for example) allow or require email addresses. Many dealers often have email addresses that don't fit.
We have enhanced the DDMS Salesperson Contacts database and PSN server so that you can enter login credentials using longer HON-activated email addresses. You can even specify multiple Salesperson contacts' login credentials. These Salesperson Contact records will override the Vendor Supply Options.

The HON PSN logic has been enhanced to look first for the HON ReadyApps Login from the email field in the DDMS Salesperson Contact Database. It will look for the HON ReadyApps Password from the URL field in the DDMS Salesperson Contact Database.
If you are a HON dealer whose email address exceeds the 20-character limit of the Vendor Supply Options box, use the Salesperson Contact Database instead:
- Enter the PSN Destination ID "HON" in the Type field. It must be ALL CAPS.
- Enter the Salesperson in the Contact Name field.
- Enter the HON-activated email address, up to 100 characters, in the Email field.
- Enter the HON-activated Password, up to 50 characters, in the URL field.
Note: If multiple persons at your dealership transmit purchase orders via PSN, you will need to set them up separately in the DDMS Salesperson Contact Database. For HON users, each person's Contact record should be set up with the same Type, email and password. HON allows only one login and password per dealership.
For detailed steps, see Setting Up and Using HNI (HON, Gunlocke, Paoli) PSN (pdf).
