What’s New In This Release?
Thursday, August 21, 2008 — ECi DDMS Version 8.15.9 is available now on request (see How do I get this version, below).
In addition to including all the features released in the DDMS 8.15.2 major release
(www.DDMS.com/support/release/whatsnew/dd815.htm), the 8.15.9 maintenance release addresses the following software issues:
For all dealers:
- Corrected so the system properly saves Order Notes when in the Commercial Order Entry window. Previously, Order Notes are not being saved to the ticket when being added from the Item Detail tab after the item has been accepted. This occurred when using the Normal setting with Start, Line and End notes. (54513, 54625)
- Corrected to allow users to open the Purchase Order Communications window without receiving an error. Users can now be logged in as Domain users and do not have to be assigned local Administrative rights on the local machine. Previously, the system required the user to have Administrative rights before the Communications window would open. (54540)
For office supply dealers:
- Corrected the Low-Stock P/O logic so that when the vendor is a Direct Buy vendor, the system properly pulls the cost. In 8.15.2, the cost was blank for direct buy low-stock P/Os, even if the Direct Buy record is not set to Ignore cost in O/E. (54521)
For office furniture dealers:
- Enhanced by adding the Furniture Manufacturer Acknowledgement Exception Reporting feature for use with furniture manufacturers Kimball Office and National. This feature applies to these manufacturers' national fuel charge. It lets you automatically update your purchase orders and sales orders with the surcharge-loaded cost, by enabling the Update Cost field in the Vendor record. (54614) See
Handling Kimball Office or National Fuel Surcharges
(www.DDMS.com/resources/support/faq/furn/fnFuelSchgAckCost.pdf)
- Corrected the Accounts Payable Post PO tab so that if the user changes the department location when posting a purchase order, the system also updates the Work in Progress (WIP) information with the new location. Previously, the system was changing the department G/L locations and correctly updating general ledger, but the WIP information was not being properly updated. (54482)
- Corrected the file layout for HMI Communication transmissions. In 8.14.41 and 8.15.2, extra lines in the transmission were causing the Herman Miller Kiosk system to reject the purchase order. (54542)
- Modified PO Communicate logic to handle new "-" field, and to concatenate any description of more than 30 characters instead of duplicating the line in Herman Miller file outputs. Extended Option descriptions should now concatenate properly when saved to output PO transmit file. Note: Some existing POs have blank option number descriptions concatenated instead of being treated as separate options. (54226)
