What's New in DDMS Version 7.8

ECi announces the release of DDMS Version 7.8, which is now available upon request to all DDMS customers.
Version 7.8 includes the following enhancements:
- W-2 Formats Updated to Meet New IRS Requirements. The U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) changed the W-2 Tax Withholding form for the year 2004. It is now 7.5 inches wide, a half-inch narrower than last year. Most of the modifications were to positioning in the State and Local Tax area of the form. On the carbonless, continuous-feed dot-matrix form, the IRS modified the boxes for retirement plan and 401(k). We have updated our W-2 report formats to meet the IRS requirements. - Enable Two Digit Pricing for Certain Credit Card Companies. Some credit card companies require pricing be extended to two digits instead of three. To use this feature, check the Two Decimal Place Pricing check box in the Customer Order Entry tab of the graphical Customer database window. This option rounds the unit’s sell and list prices to two decimal places in Order Entry. You can report on this information by using the C-MANIFEST file through Report Writer. Note: The Two Decimal Place Pricing setting can only be modified directly in the DDMS graphical interface. If you use our text-based interface exclusively, you can modify this field using the (+W) Setup & Execute Generic Specials program.
- Notes Everywhere. Create an unlimited number of free-form text notes that can be displayed in real time as you work. When you retrieve a customer, vendor, invoice, or other supported record, the system automatically shows the first attached note in a semi-transparent window that floats on top of other system applications. You can sort, limit, and organize notes by type, reference number, code, and priority. This feature gives you easy access to all of the relevant information about a customer, vendor, furniture project, or machine. If you are on DDMS product package C or D, you will automatically be authorized to use Notes Everywhere when you install Version 7.8. - Machine Security. The (EZX) Serialized Program Security screen is used to set screen passwords for the text-based serialized inventory application. All passwords you set in the (EZX) screen now also apply to the graphical Machines & Equipment applications. For example, if you set an update or inquiry password for the (EZP) Call Monitor screen, this password also applies to its graphical equivalent, the Machine Monitor window. Likewise, if you set a password for the (EZO) Log in Calls screen, it also applies to the Work Orders window. - New Parameter to Flush No-Cost Items. The (LF1) Purchase Order Flushing Parameters screen includes a new stock class range parameter. You can use this parameter so that orders containing zero price/cost items from a specified range of stock classes will automatically move to a Final Verified status 8 or B during a (TR-G) Order Entry Backorder Flush.
