What's New in Dealer Station and is.D-Force 7.3.5

Date: Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2008

Dear Dealer Station® and is.D-Force® Customers:

We will load version 7.4.2 onto your Web storefront servers Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008. The update will be performed during evening hours between 9 PM and 6 AM Eastern Time.

What's New in This Version?

Version 7.4.2 is a maintenance release that includes the following changes, pending final testing this week:

  • Corrected Item Mangement in the Admin Control Panel so that uploading images does not result in a runtime error or blank page, but properly display on your Web storefront. (3479sf)
  • (Dealer Station Only) Enhanced the browse catalog function of the S.P. Richards Enhanced Catalog, so that the top levels of catalog categories are arranged within Office Supplies, Technology, and Furniture. (3592s)
  • (Dealer Station Only) Enhanced the browse catalog function of the S.P. Richards Enhanced Catalog, so that the lower levels of catalog categories are sorted in alphanumerical order by category name. However, the initial top catalog categories are organized according to QC#3592. (3591s)
  • (Dealer Station Only) Corrected the Search page to include customized title and text even when S.P. Enhanced Content is enabled. (3594s)
  • (Dealer Station Only) Enhanced the Item Detail page, so that when the S.P. Richards Enhanced Catalog is enabled, Item detail will display the catalog page number and the item icons (such as recycled, UPS Shippable, Minority Owned, and Assembly Required), based on the eContent priority for the user. (3597s)
  • (Dealer Station Only) Enhanced the Search Results page to display the paging at both the top and bottom of the item display list when S.P. Richards Enhanced Catalog is enabled. (3606s)

How Do I Implement SPR Enhanced Content?

Effective Jan. 13, 2008, in Dealer Station 7.4.1, you have the ability to take advantage of S.P. Richards Enhanced Catalog content. If you have customer accounts who purchase items that are in the S. P. Richards catalogs, you can use the Dealer Station Admin Control Panel to set up selected end users to use enhanced search filters, cross-sell and up-sell opportunities, large item images, and product comparisons.

For detailed instructions and an important clarification on the exclusion of items from custom dealer catalogs and other vendor catalogs, please see Setting Up SPR Enhanced Content in Dealer Station.

How do I Set Up My "Down For Maintenance" Page?

Your Web storefront will be unavailable during these maintenance periods. You can schedule your site to be Offline for Maintenance by following these simple steps:

1. Log into your site's Administrative Control Panel, and click Automatic.

2. In the Automatically Shut Site Off for Maintenance box, enter the time to go offline, using a 24-hour clock.

Note: All server times are Eastern. For example, if you wish to turn off the site at 8:30 PM Eastern, add 12 hours for PM and type 20:30.

3. In the Automatically Turn Site Back On, enter the time to go back online.

4. Click Update Site Status.

5. Under Site Text, you can customize the Down for Maintenance message that will display at the top of the window and that your customers see if they login during the maintenance period.

For detailed instructions on scheduling site maintenance in Dealer Station or is.D-Force, see Chapter 1 of your Admin Manual.

We hope this information is helpful!
