What's New in Dealer Station® DDMS Edition 5.05

We will load version 5.05 of Dealer Station DDMS Edition tonight. We plan to begin the update process at 10:00 PM Eastern Time and anticipate completion by 2:00 AM ET on Saturday, May 21, 2005. During this update, your site will be unavailable.
This message describes the new enhancements in Dealer Station DDMS Edition 5.05 and explains where to find documentation on how to use them.

Version 5.05 offers the following enhancements:
- Authorized Monthly Dollar Limit. This feature lets you specify a maximum monthly dollar limit for your end-users. (Note: This is a user level budget and will not conflict with an account-level or department-level budget.) You can specify a monthly dollar limit using the Default Users, User Accounts, and Mass User pages. When the user places an order, the system compares the order total against the set dollar limit. If the monthly limit is exceeded, the system holds the order for approval and sends an appropriate email notice. New boxes have been added to the Approval Email Text and Custom Error Text sections of the Checkout Preferences page. You can use these boxes to enter a subject and corresponding message notifying the end-user when the monthly limit has been exceeded. You can use either plain text or HTML code. - New Category Search Option. By default, a search may return thousands of results related to “pen.” We have completely rewritten the search engine, improving the All Catalog Category Search feature. With Category Search on, the search results will first bring up a more manageable list of related categories, such as PaperMate Ballpoint Pens, Pentel Pen Refills, Permanent Markers, and so on. You can set up Category Search in the Default User Settings, User Accounts Settings, and Mass Change User pages. For more information, see the end-user online documentation.
- Improved Global Search Box. In our search engine, we’ve added some of the functionality of the Browse Catalog search fields into the Search box that appears on every page. Now, you can enter an item number and key words in any order, all in the one Search box. It searches the SKUs associated with an item based on the master SKU, long description, and key words. This makes it possible to search SKUs from any page the same way you currently can in Browse Catalog, without taking the extra steps on a separate page. - Faster Search Results. We have improved the site search features and fine-tuned the server to speed up the processing of search results. For more information, see the end-user online documentation.
- Checkout From Zip Order. Your customers already have the ability to add items to the cart in the Favorites page and go right to checkout in a single action. Now, they will also be able to do this from the Zip Order page. For more information, see the handout Understanding Online Purchasing and the end-user online documentation.
- Customize Zip Order Link Text. You can customize the zip order link text. This allows you to use terminology that your customers may find more familiar. For more information, see Chapter 2: Site Text in the handout, Dealer Station Admin Manual.
- Display Separate Canadian PST and GST Taxes. Your Canadian customers can now view GST and PST charges in the shopping cart and on the check out page. To enable this option, we’ve split the tax total into the Tax 1 and Tax 2 fields. In order to use this feature, Canadian dealers must load DDMS Version 7.10.10-C or higher. - View Department Number, Name and Total in Order History. Your end users now have the ability to easily view the total amount of an order placed on the Order History page. We’ve added several new boxes including the Department Number, Department Name, and Total to the Order History page. Adding these boxes helps the end-user quickly determine orders placed by departments within the company without having to open additional windows. - List Price Display Fixed in Quick Order. We have corrected a Quick Order page that was not showing list prices even though the user’s profile was set to show List Prices.
- List Price Decimal Place Display Fixed in the Cart. We have corrected the Shopping Cart page that was only showing two decimal places in the list price even though the site preferences and user’s profile was set to show four decimal places.
- Shipping Charges Fixed on Order Printout. We have corrected an order printout format. Orders were correctly submitted, but the View/Print Order page misprinted and miscalculated shipping charges as a line item, when it was already accounted for in the shipping and handling line under the subtotal.
- Item Management Fixed for Short Description. The complete short description was showing correctly anywhere the user views the description, but an error was preventing the dealer from customizing the Short Description text. We have corrected the Item Management page where it truncated any Short Description text that had the double-quotation mark symbol ("), usually signifying inches.
- Add User Fixed for Super Users. We have fixed the Add User page where an error was preventing Super Users from adding other users.
- Change Styles Page Streamlined. We have simplified the Change Styles page to eliminate an unnecessary radio button that previously had to be clicked each time an action was selected.
