What's New in Dealer Station® DDMS Edition 4.11
Date: Wednesday, November 17, 2004
Dear Dealer Station(R) DDMS Edition Customer:
This message describes the new enhancements in Dealer Station DDMS Edition 4.11 and explains where to find documentation on how to use them. The update process was complete as of 2:00 AM Eastern Time on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004.
You'll find the updated documentation in Adobe(R) Reader(R) PDF format on our Dealer Station Documentation page:
To view the manuals, you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader version 4 or above. You can download it free from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.
Version 4.11 offers the following enhancements:
- Approval Forwarding When Out of Office. We have made it easier to process orders when the assigned approver is out of the office. When you enable this function for your approval users, the approvers can use the new Approval Forwarding page to specify a date and time when they will be unavailable, and temporarily assign their order approval responsibilities to another user. For information on enabling this function, see the "Allow Out of Office Approval" topic on pages 77-78 of Chapter 9: User Accounts in the Dealer Station Admin Manual. For information on how approvers will use the Approval Forwarding page, see the "Approval Forwarding" topic on page 27 of Chapter 5: Using the Customer Center in the user guide, "Understanding Online Purchasing."
- Confirmation Emails Sent to Additional Addresses on Approval. As you may know, the user who originates an order receives a confirmation email. Now, Dealer Station can also send emails notifying the user that the order requires approval, and a confirmation once it has been approved. Also, these emails, as well as the original confirmation, can now be sent and CC'd to multiple addresses. For more information, see the "Email Addresses" topic on page 76 of Chapter 9: User Accounts in the Dealer Station Admin Manual.
- Customize Email Approval Text. You can customize the email text that is sent to approvers when an order requires approval. A new section has been added to the Checkout Preferences page that lets you enter text for the email's subject line and message. For more information, see the "Approval Email Text" topic on page 45 of Chapter 6: Checkout Preferences in the Dealer Station Admin Manual.
- Change and Delete Item Management Images. Previously, you could assign an image as a thumbnail and as a large image. However, once loaded, you could not delete it. We have added a Delete function to the Item Management Images page that gives you this ability. For more information, see the "Deleting Images" topic on page 123 of Chapter 15: Item Management in the Dealer Station Admin Manual.
- Improved User/Usage Reports. We have added to the information available in the User and Usage Reports. In the User Report, you can now view the user's email address, phone number, extension number, username and password, and the date the user was created, in addition to the user's account number and department number. In the Usage Report, you can now view the end user's order history, including the total number of orders, the number of line items, and total order amount for the month-to-date and for last month. For more information, see Chapter 14: User/Usage Reports on page 114 of the Dealer Station Admin Manual.
- Override Home Page Link. You can specify a web site or page to redirect the browser to when users log off or click Home. All users will be sent to the designated site or page when logging off or clicking Home instead of returning to the Dealer Station home page. This feature is turned on when you enter a web address in the new Override Home Page Link box in the Site Preferences page. For more information, see the "Override Home Page Link" topic on page 33 of Chapter 5: Site Preferences in the Dealer Station Admin Manual.
Note: The page numbers referenced above are subject to change in documentation revisions that may be made after this November 2004 release.
We hope that you find the new features in Dealer Station DDMS Edition 4.11 beneficial in growing your e-commerce business.
Sincerely,
ECi Technical Support
