Changing and Deleting Items

To change or delete an item, follow these instructions:

Changing an Item

Open the Inventory window. (For instructions, click here.) Follow these steps:

  1. Select the item you want to change. You can do this in several ways; see the online help topic Selecting an Item.

  2. Click the tab that contains the boxes you want to change first.

  3. Click the first box you want to change, and enter the new information.

Do not try to change the Number or Company boxes. Remember that these are key boxes, which eNsite uses to identify each item. Since every item must have unique keys, changing a key box creates a new item. To add a new item, see Adding an Item.

  4. Change any additional boxes in the same way, clicking different tabs as needed. (Note that switching tabs does not save your changes.)

eNsite uses certain boxes to begin a search for the correct item. If you change one of these boxes and press Enter, a search begins automatically. These boxes include: Number, Company, Description, and UPC Code. To avoid inadvertently starting a search, click the next box to change, or go to Step 5.

To learn more about a particular box before changing it, see the online help topic Item Window Definitions.

  5. When you finish, click to save your changes.

Deleting an Item

Open the Inventory window. (For instructions, click here.) To delete an item, follow these steps:

  1. Select the item you want to delete. You can do this in several ways; see the online help topic Selecting an Item.

  2. After you select the item, make sure it's the right one, then click .

  3. In the Delete Password dialog box, enter the password from the Delete field in the (LE) Inventory Parameters screen and click OK.

The default password is DDMS. If you have not changed the (LE) screen, use this password.

If you deleted the password in the (LE) screen, click OK without typing a password.

  4. At the message Permanently Delete Record, click OK.
