About the Salesperson Database
One of the primary functions of the Salesperson database is to store information about your salespersons and order-writers. This information includes the salesperson or order-writer number, personal information such as address and phone number, and sales history for the current month, current year, and previous year. The sales history is updated from line entries in order entry.
Because your DDMS system is fully integrated, salesperson and order-writer information is supplied automatically to other parts of the system. This information is also used to keep an accurate history of commissions and sales for each salesperson. For information about commissions, see Sales and Commissions.
Each salesperson and order-writer must be assigned a unique number. You can then assign the appropriate salesperson number to each customer's account.
Setting up your salespersons and order-writers involves:
Setting your salesperson parameters
Planning your salesperson numbering strategy
Creating your salesperson information.
The Salesperson Database has five tabs.
Information about your order-writers and salespersons is stored in the Salesperson Master tab. This tab contains personal information and sales history for the current month, current year, and previous year.
The Salesperson Price Check tab lets you limit the information your order-writers and salespersons can view and change in the text-based (EL) Customer Item Price Check screen. Using the (EL) screen, you can perform price checks for a customer quickly and easily. You can also view pricing information without actually placing an order.
The boxes in the Remote Order Tab in the Salesperson window let you set parameters for each remote order entry customer.
The boxes in the Salesperson Addl/WinOrder tab are used to set additional parameters for each remote order entry customer and to set viewing options for each WinOrder customer.
The boxes in the Salesperson Technician tab let you maintain specific information about technicians used with the Serialized application.
You set salesperson parameters for each location in the (LHY) Salesperson Parameters screen. Other salesperson parameters are set in the Salesperson window. For details, see Parameters and Salesperson Basic Procedures.
