Printing Custom Serialized Reports

When the cursor moves to the Totals Only field, you can change where and how the report prints. Using the print line you can also specify how many records to print, the location to include, the number of copies, and the printer.

  1. In the Totals Only field, you can omit report detail or print only the subtotals and the totals on the report.

  2. Type Y to omit report detail and print only totals.

  3. Type N (default) to print detail, as well as report totals.

  1. In the Loc field, press Tab to accept the default location, or enter another location. (To include all locations, space through the default location.)

  2. In the Prt field, enter the name of the printer to use.

  3. In the Copies field, enter the number of copies to print.

  4. In the Recs field, enter the number of records to include on the report. For example, to print the first 50 records that meet all the limits you set, enter 50 in this field.

  5. In the Chain field, you can specify two or more reports to be printed in sequence. When you print a report that has been chained, you print all subsequent reports as well. (If you specify a location for the initial report, this location is used for the subsequent chained reports.)

  6. Type Y to print the subsequent reports in the chain.

  7. Type N (default) if you are not printing subsequent reports in the chain.

  1. Either the Do You Wish To Save Your Sorts And Limits prompt or the Do You Wish To Save Your Selections prompt displays. You can save the changes you made to the sorts and limits or to the print line, or you can delete the changes after you print the report.

  2. Type N (default) if you are not saving changes. Go to Step 12.

  3. Type Y to save changes to the sorts and limits or to the print line.

  1. At the Enter New Selector Name prompt, enter a name for the selector you are saving. You can:

  2. Press Tab to use the same selector name. The cursor moves to the Enter New Title prompt. Go to Step 10.

  3. Enter a different selector name. The Overwrite Existing Selector prompt displays.

  1. At the Overwrite Existing Selector prompt, specify whether to replace the existing name for the selector with the one you are saving.

  2. Type Y to replace the existing selector with the new one.

  3. Type N (default) if you are not replacing the existing selector with the new one you are saving. The Enter New Selector Name prompt displays again. Enter a unique name for the selector.

  1. At the Enter New Title prompt, enter a descriptive title for the selector or press Tab to accept the default title. If you catalog this selector, the text you enter becomes the selector description in the (EZZ) screen.

  2. At the Do You Wish This Cataloged prompt, specify whether to list this selector in the (EZZ) screen with your save sorts and limits.

  3. To catalog the selector in the (EZZ) screen, type Y.

  4. If you are not cataloging this selector in the (EZZ) screen, type N (default).

  1. At the Are You Sure prompt, type Y. The report prints.
