Using the Automated Short-Buy

You launch the automated short-buy through the (LFA2) Short-Buy Launcher screen. In this screen, you can specify the days and times to launch the auto short-buy. You can set, change, view, or delete the specified days, times, and call numbers (the combination of wholesaler and time) that this screen launches. For details on the fields in this screen, see In the (LFA2) Screen.

The Launcher works with the Activities Scheduler. The Activities Scheduler is set up using the [E7] Activities Scheduler function in the (Z) Utilities screen. See Setting Up the Activities Scheduler.

  7. In the (LFA2) screen, type L in the Action field to launch a call.

  8. In the Location field, enter the location number.

  9. In the Enter Call Number To Launch field, enter the line number of the call to launch. If you do not fill the field, press Tab.

  10. At the Correct Call prompt:

  13. To launch an exceptions file instead of a call type F. The Call Number field defaults to the TF file. See Transferring Exceptions.

Note: Exceptions files for calls launched from the (LFA2) screen have eight-digit names. However, exceptions files for calls launched from the (LFA1) screen have those eight, plus two additional digits. The final two numbers indicate the wholesaler's call number. For example, suppose you have exception items from a call launched Jan. 4 at 9:10 a.m. You are ordering them from United and United's call number is 34. You would launch a call using the [L] action code. At the Correct Call prompt, type F. The Call Number field would default to TFØ4Ø91Ø34.

  1. At the Are You Sure prompt, type Y.

  2. At the Auto Short-Buy Started prompt, press Enter.

  3. The cursor returns to the Action field.
