About Customer Quotes
A quote is an estimate or a formalized bid for a customer's order. When the quote is accepted, or the appropriate additions and modifications have been made and it is accepted, you can release it to an order without re-entering the information. When you do release it, you have control of the release process. For example, you can change the pay code, the primary and secondary salesperson, the general ledger and inventory locations, the attention and specify who called to place the order, and much more. In addition, if you specified shipping address information, order notes, LabelZ information, or third party billing data when the quote was created, you can view this detail when releasing.
Quotes do not affect your on-hand quantities, accounts receivable balances, or sales history.
Note: You delete quotes and line items from a quote the same way as you delete regular orders. For details, see Deleting Orders.
