Setting Up Machine Disposition General Configuration Parameters

You use the Machine Disposition Parameters Set Up dialog box to set up parameters for Machine Dispositions. When final-receiving machines in Purchase Order Entry, you can assign dispositions to each machine. You also use this dialog box to specify default dispositions for receiving machines and rental returns. You must set up parameters before using the machine disposition features.

Note: These parameters do not appear unless you type Y in the Serialized General Configuration Use Machine Disposition box.

1. From the Parameter Editor window, double-click Serialized.

2. Double-click Machine Disposition.

3. Click General Configuration.

4. The Machine Disposition Parameters Set Up dialog box opens. For more information on each box, see In the Machine Disposition Parameter Set Up Dialog Box.

5. The Dispositions Path Set Up Disposition box contains the system defined dispositions that are available to you. The Disposition Text box contains the text that appears on screen. You can change this information by double-clicking in this box and typing in the new information. You can right-click in the Dispositions Path Set Up boxes to add future dispositions. For more information, see In the Future Dispositions Available Dispositions Dialog Box. The future dispositions will appear underneath the system dispositions.

6. You can right-click on Dispositions in the Unavailable Dispositions Edit box to add new unavailable dispositions. Click the Add New option and type in the new unavailable disposition and press Enter. The information you just entered appears in the Unavailable Dispositions in the Dispositions Path Set Up column. (Once you've added unavailable dispositions, you have the option to Delete when you right-click.)

7. The Default Set Up for Actions Action box contains the actions that you will be performing in Machine Dispositions. In the Default Disposition box, click the drop down arrow to select the default action.

8. Close the Machine Disposition Parameters Set Up dialog box by clicking .

9. General Configuration now appears in bold in the Parameter Editor window. Click to save your changes or when you exit the Parameters screens, you are prompted to save your changes.  

Note: To abandon all changes, click . It lets you restore the previously saved version without exiting the Parameter Editor window.
