Setting Screen Passwords

  1. Double-click graphics\KEYOPMENUICON16.gif.

  2. From the Keyop Menu, double-click graphics\PROGRAM_SECURITY_ICON16.gif. The (X) Program Security screen opens.

  3. The cursor moves to the A Cust field in the Update column. The first letter of each field name is the letter of the screen that field represents.

Note: To skip the remaining fields in the screen and move the cursor directly to the Master Password field, press Enter at any time.

  1. Press Tab to move to each field to assign a screen password.

    The (A) through (L) screens have fields for both Update and Inquiry passwords. You can enter an Update password only, an Inquiry password only, or both. To enter an Update password, enter the password in the Update field. To enter an Inquiry password, enter the password in the Inquiry field. To skip an Update or Inquiry field, press Tab.

    You can assign only Update passwords to the (M) through (Z) and (+) screens. To skip assigning a password to one of these screens, press Tab to pass the corresponding field.

    The (Q) screen has two password fields in the (X) screen. In the first field, you can specify an Update password for the (Q) Accounts Payable Selectors screen. In the A/P Reports field (the field next to the Q A/P Reports field), you can assign an Update password to the (QE) Canceled Check screen.

Note: Give the assigned passwords to authorized personnel only.

      The [F5] Multiple file delete function in the (Z) screen has a hard-coded password, ITSOK, that comes with the DDMS system. If you enter a password in the F5 field in the (X) screen as well, you must enter both passwords to use this function. In the first Enter Password prompt, enter the (X) screen password. In the second Enter Password prompt, enter ITSOK.

  1. When you have finished assigning screen and utility passwords, press Enter. If you have completed or tabbed through the F7 field, you do not need to press Enter. The cursor moves to the Master Password field. At this point, you can save the passwords you assigned, or return to the Master Menu without saving your passwords, or change the Master password.

  2. To save the passwords you assigned without changing the Master password, press Enter. The cursor returns to the Master Menu. To return to the Master Menu without saving your passwords, press Esc.

Setting and Changing the Master Password

  1. To specify or change the master password, in the Master Password field, enter the password to use to override all other passwords. If the password is fewer than six characters, press Enter.

  2. The Please Verify New Master Password prompt appears. Enter the password that you specified in the Master Password field. If the password is fewer than six characters, press Enter.

    If you enter a password that is different from the one you initially entered in the Master Password field, the Please Enter New Master Password or Return for Old prompt appears. The cursor returns to the Master Password field so that you can specify another Master password.

    If you enter the same password in the Please Verify New Master Password field, the You Have Now Changed Your Master Password Is this Correct prompt.

    If the displayed password is not correct, type N. The cursor returns to the Master Password field so that you can enter a new Master password.

    If the displayed password is correct, type Y. The system displays the Master Menu.
