Item Mass Changes

  1. To make mass changes, go to the (+E) Special Item screen and select the [K] Mass Delete function.

  2. The cursor moves to the By Item field. Type Y (yes) or N (no) in the By Item field to open the (+EJ) screen.

  3. This screen is divided into two columns: the Select On From column and the Change To column. In the Select On From column, specify what to change. The fields in the Change To column let you specify the changes to make. Specify the current setting for the field in the Select On column. In the Change To column specify the new setting.

To set limits, tab to each field to limit by in the From column and enter the beginning of the range to include in the deletions. When you finish specifying the beginning limits, press Enter to move the cursor to the To column.

Enter the end of the range to include in the deletions in the corresponding field in the To column.

WARNING: If you do not specify limits, the system deletes your entire inventory database.

To specify a single limit, only stock class B, for example, enter the beginning of the range in the From column only. You do not have to complete the field in the To column.

When you finish setting limits, press Enter.

  1. After you set limits, or move the cursor past the limit fields, the cursor moves to the Source Location field. At the A Location Must Be Input message, type 1 and press Enter.

Note: Records are deleted from all locations.

  1. At the Are You Sure prompt, type Y to delete the specified inventory records. Type N to not perform the deletions. If you type Y, the system displays the following information for each record that meets the limits you set:

  2. Item number

  3. Company

  4. Description

  5. Class

  6. Selling unit.

  1. If you specified N in the By Item field, the system deletes all the records that meet the limits you set, displaying each record in turn. For each record, the Process This Record prompt displays. To delete the displayed record, press Enter or type Y. After deleting the displayed record, the system displays the next record that meets the limits you set and repeats the Process This Record prompt.

To not delete the displayed record, type N. The system displays the next record that meets the limits you set and repeats the Process This Record prompt.

  2. When all of the records have been displayed, the End of Records Any Key to Continue prompt displays. Press Enter.
