Maintaining the Item Database
To access the specials screens, double-click
and double-click
. The (+) Special Programs screen opens.
Type E, Modify Inventory Records. The (+E) Special Item screen displays.
Other Item database maintenance functions are performed through the (+E) screen and include the following:
Type E to open the (+EE) screen. This screen lets you delete all items that do not have a master record in the Item Master tab.
Type F to open the (+EF) screen. This screen lets you set the on-hand quantity in the Item History Inventory tab to zero. This is useful when taking inventory counts and loading them.
Type G to open the (+EG) screen. This screen lets you clear the Hits box in the Item History Inventory tab. Hits are the number of times an item is on an order.
Type H to open the (+EH) screen. This screen lets you delete blank I-AUX records for items that do not have history, bin locations, or minimums and maximums. Delete blank I-AUX records periodically to free storage space on the disk.
Type I to open the (+EI) screen. This screen lets you move information in the I-AUX record to a different inventory location. This is especially useful if you have history in a bad location or sold an item out of the wrong location.
Type P to open the (+EP) screen. This screen lets you set stock classes according to other information in your inventory such as vendor, usage, or prefix.
Type Q to open the (+EQ) screen. This screen lets you copy bins from one location to another.
Type M to open the (+EM) screen. This screen lets you reset the Contract box in the Item Settings tab. The Contract box indicates whether an item is on a contract.
Type T to open the (+ET) screen. This screen lets you copy the UPC item number from the file I-ALIAS to the file I-MFG. Once the barcode number is copied to the I-MFG file, you can sort and limit reports by UPC number through Report Writer. Also, you can use the UPC Maintenance screen to change, delete, or inquire on UPC barcodes for all the items.
Additional Screens
Through the (+F) Reset Inventory Records screen, you can correct quantities in your Inventory Usage Record (I-AUX file) based on information in other files.
Type F, Reset Inventory Records to open the (+F) screen. A message to begin the reset process displays.

Warning: Use extreme caution when using these functions. We recommend that you perform a backup before any mass changes or deletions are performed.
