Multiple Bin Basic Procedures

After you add bins in the Add a Bin dialog box, you must assign them to items. This requires two steps.

  1. Double-click graphics\INVENTORYICON16.gif. The Item window opens, displaying information for the last item selected.

Tip: Click the Location box and enter the location for the item, if it is not already displayed. If the Location box is not displayed in the toolbar, right-click the toolbar and select Location.

  1. Select the item to which to assign a bin. If you need instructions, see Selecting an Item.

  2. Click the Settings tab and type Y in the Multiple Bin box.

  3. Click graphics\SAVE-SMALL16.gif to save this change.

  4. Click graphics\HISTORY16.gif. The Item History window opens, displaying the information for the item you selected.

  5. Select or add the inventory location in which to add the bin To do so, click the Loc box in the Multiple Locations and Bins grid that displays the inventory location in which to add a bin. This selects the inventory location and displays it in the Current Inventory Location box. Go to Step 7.

    If the inventory location you need is not shown in the grid, you can add it as follows:

  6. Click graphics\ADD_A_RECORD16.gif. The Add Item Aux Record dialog box opens.

  7. Type the new inventory location number in the New Location box and click OK. A location total line for the new inventory location appears in the grid.

  8. Click the Loc box in the grid that displays the new inventory location. This selects the inventory location and displays it in the Current Inventory Location box.

  1. Click graphics\ITEMHISTADDBIN16.gif to add a bin. The Add to Aux Bin dialog box opens, displaying the location you chose in step 6.

  2. Complete the boxes in the Add to Aux Bin dialog box.

  3. Click OK to save the information. You can repeat steps 6 through 8 to assign other bins to this item.

  4. Click graphics\CLOSE16.gif to close the Item History window when you finish assigning bins to an item.

  5. Click graphics\SAVE-SMALL16.gif in the Item window to save the bin assignments.
