Understanding Basic DDMS Concepts

Parameters let you customize DDMS to suit the needs of your business. You also use parameters to assign passwords to procedures. This lets you control who can access applications and functions within the system.

The global parameters contain information used throughout DDMS, by each database and application. These parameters are set in the (LØ) Global Master Parameters screen. They include information about your company and guidelines on how you want DDMS to operate. You access the (LØ) screen through the Keyop Menu. To set parameters in the (LØ) screen, see Setting (LØ) Screen Parameters.

Preset parameters are provided for location 1 when you receive DDMS. This means that even if you make no changes to the parameters, you can use the databases and applications. However, you can change parameter settings or set up additional locations. You can set separate parameters for each general ledger location (profit center).
