Chart of Accounts Basic Procedures

You can select an account in two ways:

  1. From the Chart of Accounts Master window, click FIND_A_RECORD16.gif.

  2. The GL Account Query Dialog Box opens. This box displays the first eleven chart of accounts in the system. To find the correct chart of accounts, you can scroll up and down the list or use the search feature.

  3. To locate the account by scrolling, scroll up and down through the list using your mouse in the scroll bar, or by pressing the up and down arrow keys. When you find the account you want, click to highlight it. Click OK, then double-click the account or press Enter to select the highlighted account.

  4. To locate the account using the search feature, tab to the Loc (location), RC (responsibility center), Major, Minor, or Name box at the top of the GL Account Query dialog box. Type the information for the account to locate and press Enter. The first account to match this information is highlighted and moved to the top of the list. When you find the account, click to highlight it. Click OK, double-click the account, or press Enter to select the highlighted account.
