Retrieving a Customer Using a Specific Box
You can use a specific search term to find a customer. You can use Acct#, Department, Department Name, Name, Phone, Salesperson or Contact.
If the Master tab is not displayed, click the Master tab, type Alt + M, or press F2.
Click the box to use to retrieve the customer or press Tab to move to that box.
Enter the search term to use to retrieve the customer:
Note: You must press Enter to search. If you press Tab, you change the information in the search box instead of searching.
To retrieve by account number, enter the customer's account number in the Acct # box and press Enter.
To retrieve by account number and department, enter the customer account number in the Acct # box and the department number in the Dept box and press Enter.
To retrieve by Department Name, enter the department name in the Dept Name box and the account number in the Acct # box and press Enter.
To retrieve by name, enter part or all of the name in the Name box and press Enter.
To retrieve by telephone number, enter the phone number in the Phone box and press Enter.
To retrieve by Salesperson, type in the number of the salesperson in the Salesperson 1 box and press Enter.
To retrieve by Contact name, enter the contact's name in the Contact box, and press Enter.
The customer you specified displays or the one that most closely matches it.
If the first customer is not the one you need, scroll through the customers, using one of the methods described above, until the customer you need is displayed or try searching again.
Note: If you scroll with the Next and Previous buttons after searching with a box, customers display according to the last search box used. For example, if the last search used the City box, scrolling displays customers in city order, beginning with the last city displayed.
