Connecting you to e-commerce

eGate opens a path between your Distribution Professional, eNsite Pro or eNsite software and hosted, batch-oriented e-commerce packages.

Transfer downloaded orders to your DDMS system via direct cable, modem, or over a network connection. (Network capability requires that you have a DDMS NT server connected to a Windows NT network.) You can use the Custom Pricing screen in your Distribution Professional, eNsite Pro, or eNsite software to create custom pricing files for your customers.These files can be exported to a Windows PC*, then uploaded to the host 's server.

eGate uses plug-ins to provide compatibility with multiple e-commerce packages so you can choose the solution that's right for your business. Later, if your needs change and you move to another supported package, you don't have to buy a different interface program; just order a new plug-in. With the appropriate plug-ins, you can even use more than one e-commerce package at a time.

eGate also supports the do-it-yourself approach. Build your own customized, batch-oriented e-commerce package and use the generic plug-in to drop the orders into your DDMS software for processing. (Information on the required file layout is included with the plug-in.)

*If you have Distribution Professional, eNsite Pro or eNsite for NT or UNIX, you can export pricing files over a network. Customers with NT servers can transfer files via floppy disk. If you have PGDOS software or your DDMS UNIX server is not connected to an NT network, you will need DataPipe or DataPipe II (not included).
