DDMSmakes it easy to add salesperson records to your database.
To begin adding salespersons, follow the steps below:
Double-click the
icon. The Salesperson window opens, displaying the information for the last
salesperson selected.
Click the
button. The boxes in the window are cleared.
Click the SalesPerson # box and enter the salesperson or order-writer
number.
Each salesperson and order writer must be assigned a unique number. Salespersons
and order writers who are assigned three- or four-digit numbers can access
the Order Entry window, while those who are assigned two-digit numbers cannot.
If you want to give this salesperson order entry access, enter a three- or
four-digit number in this box. To deny order entry access, assign this salesperson
a two-digit number. For more details, see About
Salesperson and Order-Writer Numbers.
Enter the appropriate information in each box in the Master tab. For
instructions, see In
the Salesperson Master Tab.
When you finish entering the information in the Master tab, complete
any necessary the boxes in each of the other tabs. You can move to these
tabs by clicking them. For instructions, see Salesperson
Window Definitions.
You may want to restrict the functions a salesperson or order writer can
perform. To do so, use the Allowable Functions for Salespersons dialog box.
You can do this now or add restrictions later.
When you finish entering the information for this salesperson click the
button to save
your changes.
If
you add several salespersons or order writers, you may need to reindex your
salesperson database. Reindexing is only necessary when you have difficulty
retrieving salespersons by name. For details, see Reindexing
the Salesperson Database.
Next, assign the salesperson numbers to the appropriate customer's account.
You do this in the Salesperson 1 box in the Customer Master tab. For details,
see Changing a Customer.
