Customizing Your Inventory

After you load an item file update and create unique items, you have an inventory database you can use.

However, you can make it much more useful in a number of ways. You do this by customizing your inventory: using features that tailor your inventory database to your own business, and let you manage inventory more efficiently.

The key areas for customizing your inventory include:

• Stock classes
• G/L Departments
• Warehouse bin locations
• Units of measure: selling versus purchasing
• Unique contracts for individual accounts
• Protecting profit margins: net price and max discount
• UPC numbers
• Aliases
• Linking reference items
• Column pricing and quantity breaks.
