To create a description index, so you can retrieve inventory items by description, follow these steps:

Building a description index is a dedicated function. Make sure no one else uses your system until you complete this procedure.

1. Double-click the TBL Client icon on your desktop to open a text-based session.
   
   
2. In the Master Menu, select the (E) Inventory Master screen by typing E
   
   
3. In the (E) screen, select the [O] Other Screens action code.
   
   
4. Type R to select the [R] Reindex Files function.
   
   
5. At Enter Password, type DDMS

DDMS is the default password. If you changed passwords on your system, the one you need now is set in the Reindex field in the (LE) screen.

6. At Enter Desired Function, type A
   
   
7. At Are You Sure, type Y
   
   
8. Double-click the TBL Config icon on your desktop. Look at your own user name. While the system creates the index, it displays a line of text under your user name that includes the program name ;RPT:E1. As long as you see this, the system is still building the index. Once it's finished, the line will disappear.
   
   Do not let anyone use your system until this line disappears.
