Let's Get Started

Welcome to the Let's Get Started (LGS) program! Your investment in the DDMSDDMSsystem gives you the powerful, leading-edge tool you need to run your business. The LGS program teaches you how to useDDMSto your advantage. This self-paced guide covers everything you need to know, including setting up your hardware, choosing business forms, setting up databases and learning to use the applications. The LGS program is flexible enough to meet your schedule and thorough enough to handle every business situation.

Once you begin the LGS program, you will be prompted to read some system documentation. YourDDMSsoftware provides you with complete online help. Included in the online help is information about the shortcut keys and other introductory material. In addition to coverage of each graphical feature, the online help now includes all the features that currently remain in text-based screens. You’ll find every parameter explained in the online help, for example, and every communications screen.

And remember when using the online help program, context-sensitive help is always at your fingertips. Simply place your cursor in the box that you want a definition for, then press F1.

The goal of your LGS program is to "go live": to use your DDMSDDMSsystem for daily business transactions. To accomplish this, there are three components to the training program:

Introductory System Implementation Call

Within two days of shipping a new system, the Training department contacts you to schedule this appointment. When your New Customer Coordinator calls, she helps you plan and priortize each step of your implementation process. With her help, you'll also compile a training calendar. This is a good time to ask questions about the process, if you have any.

In addition, a New Customer Coordinator will contact you weekly. She will monitor your progress and make sure your training needs are met as quickly as possible. Virtual Classroom

An integral part of the Let's Get Started program is Virtual Classroom Training. Virtual Classroom Training is live, online software training. You can attend a variety of scheduled classes via telephone and Internet. These classes are designed to reinforce the information you learn from the tutorial and to answer any questions that arise. As part of the LGS program, new customers can attend any Virtual Classroom training at no charge for 180 days from the date of purchase. Learn more about the Virtual Classroom here.

LGS Tutorial

The core component of learning to useDDMSeffectively is the LGS Tutorial. Its eight steps walk you through the implementation process:

1. Plan the implementation
2. Prepare your physical site
3. Choose business forms
4. Set up the server
5. Connect hardware and peripherals
6. Understand the flow of your business
7. Create databases
8. Learn applications and features.

The information you find here supplements your documentation; it does not replace it. We often direct you to various parts of yourDDMSonline documentation.

Certain key concepts are taught with interactive online tutorials, so you see what we're talking about, not just read about it. In addition, the quiz at the end of each topic lets you test what you've learned.
