Salesperson Tech Out of Office

This feature lets you track miscellaneous time off for your technicians. You can track whether a technician is sick, on vacation, or taking a personal day. Using the Salesperson Tech Out of Office dialog box, you can specify whether the technician is out of the office for an hour or several hours, or you can schedule all day events, or weeks off at a time.

 

Once you schedule the technician with time off, you an view this information in the Machine Tech Out of Office tab. You can also use this tab to print a copy of the technician's time off schedules to keep on hand. In addition, if you attempt to dispatch the technician on a call for the time he or she is scheduled to be out of the office in the Monitor or the Work Orders window, the system warns that the tech is unavailable with the message Scheduled Time Off. This helps dispatchers immediately know who is unavailable and lets them easily reassign or assign a different technician to the call.

 

To use this feature, you must set up the time out of office codes in the Serialized Parameters. Once you do, you can click the down arrow in the Mark Time As box in the Salesperson Tech Out of Office dialog box to assign the code for this time off, sick or vacation day, for example. (Until you set up codes, you cannot schedule a technician for time off in the Tech Out of Office dialog box.)

 

You can also set up a password for this feature using the Tech Time Out of Office parameter in the Serialized Parameters. This way, you can ensure that only those individuals with the authority to do so can schedule a technician with time off.
