Adding a Salesperson
Double-click
. The Salesperson window opens, displaying information for the last salesperson selected.
Click
. The boxes in the window are cleared.
Click the SalesPerson # box and enter the salesperson or order-writer number.
Notes: Each salesperson and order-writer must be assigned a unique number. Salespersons and order-writers who are assigned three- or four-digit numbers can access the Order Entry window, while those who are assigned two-digit numbers cannot. To give this salesperson order entry access, enter a three- or four-digit number in this box. To deny order entry access, assign this salesperson a two-digit number. For more details, see About Salesperson and Order-Writer Numbers.
Enter the appropriate information in each box in the Master tab. For instructions, see In the Salesperson Master Tab.
When you finish entering the information in the Master tab, complete any necessary boxes in each of the other tabs. You can move to these tabs by clicking them. For instructions, see Salesperson Window Definitions.
To restrict the functions a salesperson or order-writer can perform. To do so, use the Allowable Functions for Salespersons dialog box. You can do this now or add restrictions later.
Warning: Before you restrict functions, read the important information in Salesperson Security Functions.
When you finish entering the information for this salesperson, click
to save your changes.
If you are adding a salesperson with the same name, the prompt This Salesperson Already Exists displays. Click Yes to replace the salesperson or click No to re-enter the current salesperson. Go back to Step 3.
Note: If you add several salespersons or order-writers, you may need to reindex your salesperson database. Reindexing is only necessary when you have difficulty retrieving salespersons by name. For details, see Reindexing the Salesperson Database.
Next, assign the salesperson number to the appropriate customer's account. You do this in the Salesperson 1 or Salesperson 2 boxes in the Customer Master tab. For details, see Changing a Customer.
