If you have enough space on your hard drive, you can create or rebuild an item index.

  1. Go to the text-based (E) Inventory Master screen and select the [O] Other Screens action code.

  2. Select the [R] Reindex Files action code.

  3. At the Enter Password prompt, enter the password from the Reindex field in the (LE) Inventory Parameters screen and press Enter. If no password is set, press Enter at the Enter Password prompt.

  4. The Re-build Item Index Files menu appears. Select the type of index to build by entering the corresponding letter from the menu. For example, to build the description index, select A.

  5. After you have chosen the type of index to build, type Y at the Are You Sure prompt to rebuild the selected item index.

Note: Reindexing items when the disk storage space is not sufficient can cause an incomplete index to be built. (When this happens, an error message displays indicating that the disk is full.)

Warning: Indexing a database is a dedicated function. Be sure no one uses the Item database in any way until the indexing is complete.
