Adding Multiple Bins
There are three steps to setting up multiple bins for an item. The first step, adding multiple bins, is covered in this help topic. The other steps are covered in Assigning Multiple Bins to an Item.
Click the Databases menu in the DDMS Master Menu and click Item Bins. The Multiple Bins dialog box opens. (You can also access the Multiple Bins dialog box by clicking
in the Item database.)
Note: You can also assign bins when receiving the items in the Purchase Order Entry window. For details, see Purchase Order Entry.
Click the Location box, type the number of the inventory location where you want to add the bin and click Find or press Enter.
Click
or right-click in the body of the dialog box and click New Record. The Add A Bin dialog box opens.
Enter the appropriate information in each box in the Add A Bin dialog box.
Note: For information about setting parameters for multiple bin pulling codes, see Parameters.
Click OK to add the bin. The Bin box is highlighted so you can add another bin to this location.
Note: Click Cancel to exit the Add A Bin dialog box without adding a bin. If you enter a bin number that already exists, the Bin Exists Can Not Have Duplicate Bins message displays. Click OK and enter a unique bin number in the Bin box.
Click
to save the new bin.
Click Close when you finish adding bins to this inventory location.
Note: If you do not click
, when you close the Add A Bin dialog box, a Save Changes dialog box opens.
Click Yes to save the changes
Click No to close the Salesperson window without saving the changes
Click Cancel to return to the Salesperson window without saving the changes.
Repeat steps 2 through 7 above to add bins to another inventory location.
Click
to close the Multiple Bins dialog box when you finish adding bins to all the desired locations.
