Item Concepts

In the DDMS system, you can enter primary and secondary bin numbers for items. For information about entering primary and secondary bin numbers, see In the Item History Inventory Tab.

In addition to entering bin numbers when you create or change an item, you can update bin numbers when creating purchase orders, or change bin numbers for groups of items by using the mass change procedure. (For information about purchasing, see About Purchase Order Entry. For information about mass changes, see Item Mass Changes.)

If you sell bulk (or larger) items, for example, furniture, these items may present a special problem. If you assign one bin to these items, you may find you have overflow and must place the item in more than one bin. In this case, you might want to assign multiple bins to the item. For information about multiple bins, see About Multiple Bins.
